National range
Before a local estimate is available, the range reflects the catalog products matching your choices. Installation cost varies by region. Check whether the display is per window or for your selected quantity.
Estimated for your area
In an area OneStep serves, the displayed starting estimate uses catalog pricing for your selections. It is still an estimate; review your measured windows and preferences in the project summary.
Regional cost benchmark
Where OneStep does not serve an area and regional data is available, the display uses a JLC 2025 Cost vs. Value average installed cost or typical range. This is a regional reference, rather than a OneStep project quote.
The choices that shape your estimate
Product and quantity
The manufacturer, model, window style and frame material determine which catalog products you are comparing. The number of windows determines the project quantity.
Size and preferences
Measured width and height determine the size tier. Grid options can add to the estimate. Finishes and other preferences still need review; selecting a preference does not confirm its price or availability.
How window sizing works
United Inches (UI) = width + height, in inches. For example, a window that is 36 inches wide and 48 inches high is 84 UI.
Our general pricing guide describes a flat price for windows under 100 UI and increases in 10 UI increments for larger windows. The available size bands are product-specific, so check the selected product’s size pricing rather than assuming every window has the same bands.

Review the selected windows, quantity, entered dimensions and itemized totals. The measured-window price and the estimate for grid options may be shown separately; read their labels before comparing totals.
Confirm the project details
Review your selected windows, grid and finish preferences, and product warranty. Your project manager reviews the entire project scope and takes precise measurements at the visit, without changing your online quote.
Reservation and payment terms
The reservation and payment process described below is for reference. During pre-launch, checkout offers the launch list and does not collect the $49 reservation or a deposit.
- $49 reservation. The $49 reservation reserves your project. Online video measurement locks your online quote. The reservation goes toward the down payment, rather than being an extra fee.
- Measurement confirmation. During checkout, choose a date for a project manager to review the entire scope and take measurements to 1/8 inch. The visit does not change your online quote, and there is no sales pressure.
- 1/3 deposit. After the project manager confirms everything, the stated deposit is one third of the project price to begin the manufacturer order for custom-sized windows. The $49 reservation is credited toward it.
- Remaining balance. The stated balance is due at installation completion, after you have inspected the work and confirmed you are satisfied.
What the reservation price-lock terms say
Online video measurement locks the online quote for your quoted project. Your project-manager visit does not change it. Existing terms allow a price change if you add or remove windows.
During pre-launch, an estimate or launch-list signup does not activate a reservation or lock a price. Review the project-specific scope and applicable terms before reserving.
